Christmas Shopping on December 23

Well folks, it’s time for the true procrastinators like me to go Christmas shopping. I am ashamed to admit that I got nothing done early this year. No decorations up, no holiday cards out yet, no presents bought. I am a holiday slacker. The only thing I have done so far is bake cookies. So today, I took a floating holiday at my work and am spending my day in holiday blitzkrieg mode.
Why the delay? You probably noticed that it’s been about two weeks since my last post. I’ve been helping my family deal with some health-care related issues on behalf of my uncle who has been in the hospital. I work in an academic medical center, so I’ve been making phone calls, doing research and visiting with family rather than writing or shopping.
But today, the holidays are on! My immediate family has been hit pretty hard by the economy, with my two brothers in their 20′s jobless and living with my parents, and my boyfriend out of work (laid off and just finishing law school for a career change) – so I’m happy to spread some good Christmas cheer this season in the form gifts, cards and sugar. Hopefully I can brighten their day a little and help fuel the post-holiday job hunt.
To those of you doing last minute shopping today – good luck! I’ll see you out at the stores.

Hahaha, I’ve been a last-minute shopper too this year! Glad to hear I’m not alone! I did all my Christmas shopping on the 23rd too.

I started my shopping on first week of December and only finished it on the 23rd of December. I don’t know if I’m to be called as last-minute shopper or a slow-shopper.
