Best Budget Date Night?

Posted on July 21, 2008 8 Comments

Alpha Consumer’s asking you to share your best budget date night, and she’s giving the winner a free book. I know you guys have some great ones, so post them there and then post them back here! When I think of one, I’ll submit and share it with you. This could be fun.

Also, while you’re there be sure to read a few of the great ideas her readers are posting. Here’s a good one:

“Now that it’s summertime, the Brooklyn Bridge Park Conservancy has started showing movies under the Brooklyn Bridge on Thursday nights. My boyfriend and I pack some snacks, order a pizza from Grimaldi’s for about 20 bucks, and watch a FREE movie outside. Last night we even got to watch some fireworks that were being fired from Governor’s Island before the feature, Invasion of the Body Snatchers.”

Fireworks, movies, pizza and the Brooklyn Bridge? Love it. I can’t wait to hear your thoughts.

I love using Restaurant.com to go try out places that we wouldn’t normally be able to afford!

Our cheapest dates are weddings (that we’re invited to of course!) For about $100, we get all the wine we can drink, a decent meal, dancing, conversation with adults. Plus, we can almost always score free babysitting from our parents, because it’s more of an obligation than a date!

Why not a romantic walk in the park, bringing a good bottle of Cabernet Saugvignon. You can easily close the evening at under $30. Think also about finding ways to increase your income. Forex trading education can help you enter the forex market. There are loads of good articles on the subject at forexface.com.

I’m a big fan of the Celebrate Brooklyn concerts in Prospect Park. The have a really diverse lineup of shows, both music and dance. I f you go early enough you’ll get a seat but I like to picnic on the lawn with food from Sahadis.

My favorite date would be bf cooking me meals, taking my dog out to walk and then relaxing on a couch with a glass of wine and chick flick.

Hi Nicole. I’m working on a documentary program about shopping addictions for a show called The Secret Lives of Women. It’d be great to speak with you if you have time. If you’re interested, could you please email us at pangolinwe@yahoo.com. Thank you.
