Would you do this? Watch the video, then take the poll. I think it’s really interesting, but doesn’t seem very credible.

Why is the risk for lenders not discussed ?

Thanks for the information. It will be interesting to see how this plays out in the open market. I like the concept.

I’m a member of prosper. I’ve lended $25 here and there and have made 10% interest on the money (much better than my savings accounts). I only pick borrowers with a “good story” and a decent credit rating. I won’t lend a lot at one time, because it is a risk, but small loans are worth making a few bucks on. Maybe their stories are big lies, but it still makes me feel good to help them out a bit. The best way to be safe is to diversify who you are lending to.

I’m a member of Prosper, and I actually took a loan to consolidate high interest credit cards. I feel better paying my money to an individual rather than to a large credit card. I am making it my top priority to pay this off ASAP rather than in the 3 years I have to actually pay the full loan off. However, I am sure it is pretty risky bidding on loans and I may lend money some time in the future, but I can’t say that I am a good example of borrowers overall.
