Nicole Mladic, 29, of Oak Park, Ill., is an award-winning Public Relations professional. Her blog, The Budgeting Babe, created in November 2004, chronicles her journey from over-spender to power saver. Nicole has been quoted on the CBS Evening News, in Financial Times, The Wall Street Journal online, US News & World Report, www.msnbc.com, Yahoo! Finance and Glamour magazine, among others. She is also quoted in “The Everything Blogging Book.”

Nicole grew up in Chicago, the daughter of a Chicago cop, and attended Bradley University in Peoria, Ill., where she graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2001 with a degree in communications and minors in marketing and Spanish. She has three brothers, enjoys traveling and running, and is currently training for a half-marathon. She is a terrible cook, much to her mother’s chagrin.
