Building wealth – one small step

I just transferred $500 into my money market account – officially bringing it over $10,000 for the first time ever. Yeah!
This is really my “someday I’m gonna buy a house fund,” that’s been growing since I started it at the end of 2003. (Faithful readers will know that I also have a retirement fund and a “rainy day fund,” outside my checking account.)
I’m so proud of myself
At first I thought I’d start looking for condos when I had $10,000 saved up, but now I think I’m going to try for $15,000. Who knows, maybe I can hold out until $20,000. It won’t take me another four years to double it, because I’m able to put away more money each month now.
I think I shall have some frozen yogurt today to celebrate. Maybe even go shoe shopping.

Stick with shoes. They last longer than fro-yo on a hot day.

Go for the yogurt. It’s one less thing you’ll have to move.
