Hopped in a cab with a random stranger today to make my train. We were both waiting for the bus and it never came. He worked in my building and was at least very polite. That’s one way to “carpool” and save a few dollars.
(In retrospect, I recognize this is not the safest thing to do. However, ride sharing happens frequently in front of my building because the bus is so unreliable!)

I”ve done the exact same thing before because our building bus is so terrible as well, and the guy i shared with ended up working at another ad agency and turned out we knew some of the same people. So my cab ride turned into a chance to network… you never know.

At least it was a commercial cab and not just a casual carpool. I don’t think I could do that, but it happens all the time in VA and CA. They call t a ‘slug line’ in Virginia.
Turns out two of my friends from two completely different circles met on a metro platform while waiting 2 hours for a train. It’s a small world sometimes.
