An Office Reminder

I know you’re all hard at work right now, making the big bucks (or at least trying to). So allow me to interject with this gentle reminder: Take time out today to look out the window.
I have an office with a huge window. In fact, my entire wall is one large window. And yet, most days, I don’t even turn my head in the slightest way to look outside. I can’t tell you whether it’s sunny or cloudy, whether there’s a rainbow in the sky or a barge thundering down the river.
I just looked outside – it’s bright and beautiful, with lines of airy clouds like northern lights dancing on the periwinkle sky. A slow red tourist boat just floated beneath a rusted bridge, and bustling traffic continues to stream on Lake Shore Drive. The lake is a brilliant turquoise today.
If you don’t have a window in your office, get to one and look outside. Summer is upon us, and even if us working gals and guys can’t experience it fully right now, we can certainly appreciate it.
Now back to work! We have a future to fund, you know.

I love the city of Chicago. The building, the lake, the people, the sounds, and the smells. Even the traffic. I am in awe every time I get to go down there, through there or even near there. My husband thinks I’m nuts but he always says Well, hon, there’s your city. (I live in Kenosha, WI btw so I get to visit frequently)

I have a huge window behind me as well and I took your advice and it’s clear day out! Makes me want to be outside, but also thankful I’m in an air-conditioned office!
