Spring’s Best Accessory

This Spring, my favorite accessory is sleek, small and comes in a variety of shapes and colors. Its chic minimalist exterior design belies a fierce, flashy interior. Coach… Hermes… Fendi?
Not quite. Does Fellowes mean anything to you? How about Aurora or GBC? They’re paper shredder brands, and they’re all the rage among in-the-know financial types.
Paper shredders? You think I’m joking. You’d rather spend your money on skinny jeans – after all, Mischa Barton (RIP Marissa) looks fabulous in them – and, besides, you have no time to visit a Staples or Target this weekend.
But think about it. A good paper shredder can help protect you from identity theft (see the comments to my previous post for horror stories), provide you with peace of mind and secure mounds of personal data (account numbers, for instance) that would otherwise find its way into your trash can. While it’s no guarantee against identity theft, regular use of a paper shredder can make it a lot more difficult for would-be thieves to access your personal information.
Still think skinny jeans, or worse – formal shorts, are a better financial use of your money? Visit this Web site: http://www.cockeyed.com/citizen/creditcard/application.shtml. You’ll be glad you did.
Besides, no one but Mischa Barton looks good in skinny jeans. Trust me on that one.

I’m in the market for a new shredder, mine gave up the good fight in the post-tax filing shred-a-thon

I got mine at Wal-Mart… It’s a Fellowes cross-cut. Good stuff!

This is funny. I was cheap and bought a bottom of the line one. Now I curse everytime it jams after I feed more than a single sheet through it.

Excellent blog and thanks for the opportunity to share my thoughts here. I am very interested in the development of the paper shredder revolution, both for my masters degree and for my website. I’ve just begun to gather data on ID theft and similar crime and it seems this is truly a plague of modern society.
If you are interested I have some interesting FACTA law resources on my website and I plan to add more info on topics such as purchasing used paper shredders, guides on the necessary security protection and resources on paper shredder types.
Enjoy your day!
