Marching into DC

It’s 1:30 a.m. on a Saturday and I just arrived in D.C., where I’ll be staying on business until next Thursday. The hotel’s not bad because it offers free continental breakfast and Internet access (both which are HUGELY appreciated by any frequent business traveler), and I can see the Capitol Dome and the Washington Monument from my hotel window. Tonight, both are illuminated against a clear midnight sky, the moon glowing impressively above.
My room, at the State Plaza Hotel, is nice but is eerily too big. Bigger than my apartment, in fact. I feel small here.
I usually love traveling to D.C., but I am very sad that I have to work tomorrow (Sunday) during the Bradley University NCAA game! Last night I experienced March Madness in all its excessive, drunk, elated glory as my Braves knocked off the Jayhawks in a thrilling upset. I’ve not had that much fun since my college days, so you can imagine what a bummer it is to have to work during the second round. Sigh.
No need to worry if you didn’t follow that last paragraph. I’m not about to turn this page into a sports blog. However, if your significant other spends hours upon hours fixated to the television this time of year, occassionally yelling, sometimes fist-pupming, always focused on some crazy “bracket,” my advice is to pay attention, and try to get into it. You might actually have some fun. I sure do.

I saw you are blogrolled at a blog. Well, I understand that this blog is about a girl who is saving and keeping eye on her expenditure to make sure that expenses should not go high and are in limit. I am also same kind of person and I made sure till date that I am earning enough more than what I spend. Its a genuine appreciation from me to budgeting people like you and I would like to give you some idea which might add up $100-200 in your pocket every month and more n more eventually till the idea is alive. I like to help friends who dont know about what they can get with their blog in terms of money. I explain it to my real life friends verbally, but it takes time to make everyone understand the same thing again n again, so I wrote this and published so that people like you shall understand most of the things at beginning. See if it helps you. I am always available for consultation, just leave comment at this blog and I will get back to anyone who needs help. I want to spread that informative page. Scribble about it in your money blog if its possible or nevermind
. Good luck in “budgeting the life” drive.

Go Bradley! I went to U of I and with the recent departure of Bill Self from Illinois to Kansas, I always look forward to teams stomping on Kansas. Illinois lost last night, but deserved to by the way we played. Hopefully Bradley can take it all the way! Have fun in DC.

Don’t forget CBS is broadcasting all the games online for free.

Welcome to D.C.! You should have been here last weekend when it was in the low 80s! The good thing is that it sky is clear and you get to enjoy the monuments. Not sure if the cherry tree blossomed but they sure are beautiful. Have a wonderful stay!

You are an inspiration to all sport hating females out there.
I am going to quote you to my gf and all of our female mates (and a few male ones).

Welcome to town!
Last weekend was much better, but the weather might be a little warmer than Chicago anyhow.

Congratulations!
You must be really excited. Good luck against Memphis… are you going to be able to watch the game, or will you be stuck in transit?

I should be able to catch the game, provided my flight is not delayed! Thanks!
