Temporary Health Plans

Temping between jobs? Still searching for your place in the “real world” after college? Internship lacking benefits?

If you are temporarily between benefits, reasonably-priced health care insurance options exist. Check out Sandra Block’s Your Money column in USA Today for more details about temporary insurance plans.

According to her article, Humana and eHealthInsurance both offer good plans for job hunters.

Speaking of insurance, I got my bill from that doctor’s appointment to check out my stomach problems a couple weeks ago…. $181.00 to tinkle in a cup and get stuck with a needle, and that’s after insurance(!). The doc didn’t tell me anything about my problem, and hardly asked any of the necessary questions to figure out what might have been wrong – which may have saved some money on the tinkle tests. I can get more comprehensive information on WebMD for free.

OK, I’m done venting. But that was my haircut money for the month, and you know how I love to visit the stylist. Now I’m done venting.

(FYI- I’ll update my links section this weekend, so send me any new Web sites soon via e-mail.)

I took my roomie in for a pre-op physical and they did an ekg, well it looked different to them, so they call another nurse and that nurse sends us to ER.(she was have NO chest probs)

Anyway- the idiot in the docs office put the leads on wrong and we have to pay $50 for an ER visit cause her primary didn’t want to take the visit,(which would have been free) since it was close to time for them to close! GRRR
