Hello from San Francisco

Hello from San Francisco! I am here for work and wanted to send a note. San Franciso is a pretty fun town, but depending on what you do here it can be pretty costly.

If you’re coming, I’d recommend doing a good amount of planning in advance on the Web to find bargains on entertainment, hotel and flights. Beyond that, here are a few guides I find helpful for trip planning:

In general, if you can take a red-eye flight, it can really lower your price. Choose your hotel carefully! The city is small, and neighborhoods change quickly. No need to rent a car in the city; there is no parking and public transportation is plentiful.

Navigating hotels here can be crazy – it’s not like other cities. There are boutique hotels around every corner! Here’s a cute web site with tons of options:

Just search online for recommendations – there is a ton of great information readily available if you have the time.

I went to San Francisco for the first time recently…had a great time, also loved the Napa Valley, which isn’t that far away. Planning on going back to San Francisco in August and catch a Giants game.

Giants games are so great there! Order the garlic fries and sit really high so you can see the bay. It’s a wonderful ballpark.

PS- If you’re in Chinatown, visit a great store called OLD SHANGHAI. I bought a cool purse for $30, but they have lots of authentic clothes, accessories and housewares that don’t look cheap.
