Pet Peeve
Posted on March 26, 2005 9 Comments
Today, I intended to purchase one new night heat lamp for my turtle and a box of facial tissue. Two pet stores and one Target trip later, I returned home with:
- New ‘chicken and egg’ flavored box turtle food…I thought it looked appetizing (Betsy’s not touching it)
- A “Bug Catcher” bracelet for my cousin’s daughter (It will make a great birthday gift!)
- 10 lbs. of cat food, because, hey, we won’t have to go to the pet store again next week
- A Target laptop carrier that I saw in “Q” as a bargain buy for $24.99
- 3 Easter cards
- A full bag of Easter candy (We narrowly escaped buying a “Peeps” keychain as a gift but Brian threw it back on the shelf)
- A stomach full of pizza… we got hungry
We did not buy:
- One nighttime heat lamp
- One box of facial tissue
I swear I’m going to start following my own advice sometime soon.

I ate Peeps last night. They are gross. By the way, this is one of the few useful blogs out there. Nice work.

That happens to me all the time, especially at Target! I don’t know how they do it, but they have managed to fill that store with cool stuff and make me feel like I NEED to take all of it home with me.

lol its all about discipline I guess. but I’m not one to say, I walked out of Target (yes target too) with a $50 microwave.. when intention of going in just to get some $1 erasers. but the microwave supposely goes for $70 and it was in the clerance section… I couldnt resist! Honestly though, we do need a new microwave, the old one took 2-3x longer to cook than normal.

I wonder if turtles are in fact vegetarians?
Maybe that’s why Betsy’s not bitin’….

Stay out of Target! They spritz a secret chemical in the air that makes all women spend at least $100 on extraneous stuff.

I just went into Rite Aid and did the same thing. I wanted to buy a lipliner that was on sale, but the Dryel sheets I use instead of drycleaning were on sale, too, so I stocked up on that ($30), and for being so good I treated myself to a Sobe Green Tea and some candy.
I also have that happen when I go to WalMart for a $15 oil change. It seems to cost me at least $80 for some strange reason.
