I’m not sure of all the WHYs that changed this, but I do not it’s no longer the case in our economy.

I give props to the graduates who are saving and being frugal, while charting their own course in that no-man’s land between college degree and full-time work with benefits. It’s not easy.

The earlier in life that this is made real to each individual, the stronger the day-to-day practices are ingrained and become a way of life. A course on the “Economics of Life” should be mandatory in both High School and College before graduation. Anyone that fails the course must retake it until they get it right, otherwise no certificate!

That didn’t happen. I moved back home and became a substitute teacher before I found full time work. That time taught me how to save save save.
