Also the Houston Fine Arts museum is fantastic. The rodeo is great to experience, if you'll be there while it's in town. Every rodeo performance ends with a concert featuring great performers. We've seen everyone from George Strait to Bon Jovi there.

As far as the fishing, I'm with you. Daddy always did the worm and fish handling for me. Now that I'm married, my husband won't do that. Says I'm too spoiled. Needless to say, I just hang and read while he fishes. Hope your trips are wonderful. Only becuase the company offered free trips that weekend...and that was not an easy decision!! Hopefully you have a room!! I usually book mine about 8 months out, using points!! Nothing better than getting free $400/night rooms!!
Go Baby Go!! You will have a blast at the Derby….I’ve only missed it 2 time in the past 16 years. I was looking on nytimes.com - which actually names a LOT of restaurants - and on a few adventure travel sites for some hiking, biking, etc... I'm TOTALLY fine with eating my way throughout the city! I've been there twice before and was just looking for something different to do...music, hiking, etc. Awesome comments! It's actually quite a cultured place, you just have to know where to look. I'd suggest checking out Yelp.com to see what Houston has to offer.

t Houston also has fantastic museums.
