Through the trees…

I don’t have a Christmas tree this year. Last night I suddenly started silently panicking that not buying a tree would let my grandmas down. I mean, it’s like they’re up in heaven shouting at me, “Proper ladies put up Christmas trees! Now go get one!”

I didn’t get one this year because I didn’t have time. I had too many presents to buy, too much work to get done and no one visits my place anyway. It’s a waste of my time and money.

But now, it’s Christmas weekend. My apartment’s cold. My presents are wrapped, and aside from cleaning my apartment, all I have left to do is eat dinner and finish laundry. Suddenly Christmas trees are calling, and tradition’s a tough thing to ignore.

So, I think I’m off to the tree lot… (sign) …
